Modern Standard Arabic
- known in Arabic as اللغة العربية الفصحى‎  al-luġa-tu l-ʿarabiyya-tu l-fuṣḥā "the most eloquent Arabic language", is currently the only official form of Arabic and is derived from the language used in QURAN / KORAN and thus considered the liturgical language of Islam making it the official language of 26 states. 
It is used in most formal written documents as well as in formal spoken occasions, such as conferences, lectures and news broadcasts. This varies, though, from one country to the other. It is widely taught in schools, universities, and used to varying degrees in workplaces, government and media.

Egyptian Arabic 

- (also known as al-masri المصري‎ or al-lughah masreyya [elˈloɣæ l.mɑsˤˈɾejjɑ] is the most widely used  and understood spoken variety of Arabic  with more than 54 million native speakers and is understood by many Arabs due to the popularity of Egyptian mass media, e.g. music and movies.

Gulf Arabic aka Peninsular Arabic

- (also known as Khaliji, خليجي ḫalīǧī [xæˈliːd͡ʒiː] or اللهجة الخليجية al-lahǧah al-ḫaliǧiyyah [ælˈlæhd͡ʒæ l.xæˈliːˌd͡ʒijːæ]) is  spoken around the shore of the Persian Gulf, in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Iran. These dialects are mutually intelligible on a high level, having very few differences.

Levantine Arabic
also known as اللهجة الشامية‎, al-lahjat aš-šāmiyyah and sometimes called Eastern Arabic is a broad variety of Arabic spoken in the 100 to 200 km-wide Eastern Mediterranean coastal strip by around 18 million native speakers. It is considered one of the five major varieties of Arabic. It is used for daily oral use, while most of the written and official documents and media use Modern Standard Arabic.

Maghrebi Arabic aka Moroccan Arabic  

also known as Maghrebi or Darija is a cover term for the varieties of Arabic spoken in the Maghreb region in North Africa, including Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, and Libya. In Algeria, Maghrebi Arabic as a colloquial language was taught as a separate subject under French colonization, and some textbooks exist. Speakers of Maghrebi call their language Derija or Darija, which means "dialect" in Modern Standard Arabic. It is primarily used as a spoken language; written communication is primarily done in Modern Standard Arabic (or French), along with news broadcasting. Maghrebi Arabic is used for almost all spoken communication, as well as in TV dramas and on advertising boards in Morocco and Tunisia whilst Modern Standard Arabic (الفصحى (al-)fuṣ-ḥā) is used for written communication.

Mesopotamian Arabic aka (less accurately) Iraqi Arabic

- known as عراقي ʕirāqi in Arabic, is a continuum of mutually intelligible Arabic varieties native to the Mesopotamian basin of Iraq as well as spanning into central and northern Syria, western Iran,southeastern Turkey, and spoken in respective Iraqi diaspora communities.It is spoken by more than 15 million native speakers.
